Sandalwood soap
Sandalwood soap is made using essential oil from the fragrant wood
of trees in the Santalum genus. These trees are found in Nepal, southern
India, Sri Lanka, Hawaii, and the South Pacific and their essence has
been use to make incense for more than 4,000 years.
Sandalwood soap is known to have a calming effect on the mind and body.
Essential oils, such as sandalwood, are preferred for soapmaking because
they don’t cause soap to “seize” up while it’s
being made.
Sandalwood soap scent can be very overwhelming in the wrong hands –
it’s not for everyone. Make sure the soap you buy is free from
artificial ingredients that could pollute the sandalwood scent. If you
make your own, you’ll just have to experiment to find the perfect
balance.
